Search Engine Optimization

To maximize the value of your investment, your OpenRain site allows you to optimize several search engine-related characteristics on a per-page and site-wide basis to improve your organic search engine rankings and visitor conversion ratio.

Page Titles

The title of each page should be set to a few words capturing the purpose and content of the page. The URL used to access the page will be generated by the system based off these words.

Page Description

The text in the “description” field is used by search engines to describe the page in organic search engine results pages (SERPs). Different search engines will display the text slightly differently, so the field should be about two or three sentences long. Try to contain context and wording that is related to or at least consistent with the content of the page. Note that this text is only for SEO purposes and it not visible when the page is viewed normally.

Page Keywords

The “Keywords” field should contain about five-to-ten comma-separated words or brief phases about the page. It’s not really used outside of an SEO context and doesn’t show up as part of the visible page, so it shouldn’t “read” like grammatically correct English.
